Wow, it's been 15 years since I found a fried fly in with my curly fries as a freshman in Washington DC, so I let bygones be bygones and gave the San Jose location a chance.
First off, the menu shouldn't be this confusing. How many ways can a guy get a roast beef sandwich. The answer is too many, so like any other mission, I go with the standard for reviews first. The classic with cheddar and curly fries.
I love how they have horseradish mayo as a condiment, great touch, though not quite spicy enough for me... I'm not quite sure what the Arby's sauce it, but it isn't that good, so let's hope they keep it a secret.
So with a small amount of Arby's sauce, and a large helping of Horsey sauce(again, great name, I love eating glue!), I bit into my sandwich. And WOW, this is pretty great. I loved the thinly sliced Faux roast beef, the onion roll, and cheddar with sauces. Great stuff. You can feel as you bite through 20 layers of beef as they all split between your teeth. Good taste and texture.
And the fries, I am a sucker for curly fries. And they are the default here, which is a great idea. While my fries lacked any very nice large fries like the lady at the table next to me(she had a fry must have been 8" long!, and i'm only a little jealous), the taste great, like they just came out of the freezer!
All in all, a very tasty meal. Arby's I will see you again in 15 years!
